My name is Suely Aboody and I was born in São Paulo, Brazil. Brazil, a country rich in spirituality and culture, has always been an inspiring place for me. Growing up in this vibrant environment shaped my worldview and ignited a deep sense of connection with the spiritual realm.
I graduated in Physical Education and Culinary Arts, fields that allowed me to explore both physical wellness and the art of nourishment. However, my true calling unfolded during my twenties, following the tragic loss of a family member, an event that deeply affected me. This loss marked the beginning of my spiritual journey, one that I have continued to explore ever since.
In 2009, I moved to the United States, where I continued my transformative spiritual path. During this time, I embraced a holistic approach to wellness, integrating meditation, yoga, holistic therapies, and the study of ancient civilizations into my daily life. I had the privilege of traveling to Egypt, Rome, Greece (Delphi) and Turkey, where I immersed myself in the study of remarkable cultures and philosophies.
In 2023, I took a Western Reiki class in Brazil, which deepened my desire to further explore this powerful healing modality. This experience inspired me to search for a Traditional Usui Japanese Reiki course, and through that journey I was introduced to Gendai Reiki.
My studies in Gendai Reiki opened the door to a much deeper level of understanding, practice, and spiritual growth.
In January 2025, I had the opportunity to travel to Tokyo, Japan, where I received my title as a Gendai Reiki Master. During my stay, I participated in three events and two deeply transformative workshops.
One of the most special moments was the New Year Ceremony – Reijukai, which brought together 210 Gendai Reiki Masters from more than 12 countries. The gathering united masters and practitioners from different parts of the world to celebrate, practice, and share experiences. After the ceremony, we enjoyed a dinner together, creating a special moment for connection and exchange among participants.
One of the most remarkable experiences of this journey was meeting Doi Sensei, the founder of Gendai Reiki, in person and receiving Reiju directly from him. This moment was especially meaningful, as the event reflects the way Usui Sensei used to celebrate the beginning of the year with his students, creating an atmosphere of deep spiritual connection and learning.
I also had the honor of connecting with around 250 Gendai Reiki practitioners from various countries and attending lectures and teachings given by Doi Sensei. The next event was the Gendai Reiki Masters Workshop, where 74 masters from 12 countries gathered to deepen their studies and practices. It was a very special time of learning, exchange, and strengthening of the international Reiki community.
During this trip, I also visited the Meiji Jingu Shrine in Tokyo. It is known that Usui Sensei deeply admired the poems of Emperor Meiji and studied them with his students. To this day, together with the Gendai Reiki Network (GRN), we study these poems weekly along with Doi Sensei’s commentaries.
Another deeply meaningful experience was visiting Taniai, the birthplace of Usui Sensei. There, I had the opportunity to meditate at the temple where he meditated, connecting in a very special way with the origins and essence of Reiki.
To conclude this journey, we participated in a gathering with Gendai Reiki Masters in Sapporo, where, in addition to practicing together, we strengthened our bonds within a vibrant, dedicated, and supportive international community.
In January 2026, I returned to Tokyo to once again participate in the New Year celebration ceremonies at the Meiji Kinenkan. I attended the Goreikai and the New Year Reiju ceremony, which brought together more than 300 masters, as well as the moving celebration of Doi Sensei’s 90th birthday. I also participated in the GRN (Gendai Reiki Network) Workshop, with around 100 masters from different countries.
Today, I feel deep gratitude for all the experiences lived throughout this journey of spiritual growth.
It is with great joy that I share with you the opportunity to participate in the Gendai Reiki courses that I offer in Florida and Brazil. I invite you to join us at our Reiki Studio in Orlando, where we hold monthly gatherings for Reiki practice and exchange. These meetings provide a welcoming space to deepen the practice, share experiences, and strengthen each participant’s spiritual journey.
After the courses, I also offer weekly online meetings, where we continue practicing Gendai Reiki techniques and deepening the learning.

Olá! Meu nome é Suely Aboody. Eu nasci e cresci no Brasil, um país rico em espiritualidade e cultura. Desde cedo, fui profundamente influenciada por esse ambiente vibrante, que despertou em mim um forte senso de conexão com a espiritualidade.
Minha trajetória profissional começou com a formação em Educação Física e Gastronomia, áreas que me permitiram explorar tanto o bem-estar físico quanto a nutrição. No entanto, o verdadeiro chamado para minha jornada espiritual aconteceu após uma perda devastadora em minha família aos 26 anos. Essa tragédia se tornou o marco inicial de um caminho de autodescoberta e crescimento espiritual que sigo até hoje.
Em 2009, me mudei para os Estados Unidos, onde minha jornada espiritual continuou a se expandir. Foi nesse período que comecei a integrar práticas como meditação, yoga, terapias holísticas e o estudo de filosofia. Durante minhas viagens a lugares como o Egito, Roma, Grécia (Delfos) e Turquia, tive a oportunidade de me aprofundar no estudo de culturas e sábias filosofias antigas.
Em 2023, fiz um curso de Reiki Ocidental no Brasil, o que aprofundou ainda mais o meu desejo de explorar a raiz do Reiki tradicional. Essa experiência me inspirou a buscar um curso de Reiki Tradicional Japonês, e foi nessa jornada que fui apresentada ao Gendai Reiki.
Meus estudos no Gendai Reiki abriram as portas para um nível muito mais profundo de compreensão, prática e crescimento espiritual.
Em janeiro de 2025, tive a oportunidade de viajar para o Japão, em Tóquio, onde recebi meu título de Mestre em Gendai Reiki. Durante minha estadia, participei de três eventos e dois workshops profundamente transformadores.
Um dos momentos mais especiais foi a Cerimônia de Ano Novo – Reijukai, que reuniu 210 Mestres de Gendai Reiki de mais de 12 países. O encontro trouxe mestres e praticantes de diferentes partes do mundo para celebrar, praticar e compartilhar experiências. Após a cerimônia, tivemos um jantar de confraternização, proporcionando um momento especial de troca e conexão entre os participantes.
Uma das experiências mais marcantes dessa jornada foi conhecer pessoalmente Doi Sensei, fundador do Gendai Reiki, e receber o Reiju diretamente dele. Esse momento foi especialmente significativo, pois o evento reflete a forma como Usui Sensei celebrava o início do ano com seus discípulos, criando um ambiente de profunda conexão espiritual e aprendizado.
Também tive a honra de me conectar com cerca de 250 praticantes de Gendai Reiki de diversos países e participar de palestras e ensinamentos ministrados por Doi Sensei. O proximo evento foi o Workshop de Mestres de Gendai Reiki , onde 74 mestres de 12 países se reuniram para aprofundar estudos e práticas. Foi um momento muito especial de aprendizado, troca e fortalecimento da comunidade Reiki internacional.
Durante essa viagem, também visitei o Templo Meiji Jingu, em Tóquio. Sabe-se que Usui Sensei admirava profundamente os poemas do Imperador Meiji e os estudava com seus discípulos. Até hoje, junto com a Gendai Reiki Network (GRN), estudamos semanalmente esses poemas com os comentários de Doi Sensei.
Outra experiência profundamente significativa foi visitar Taniai, local de nascimento de Usui Sensei. Ali tive a oportunidade de meditar no templo onde ele meditava, conectando-me de forma muito especial com as origens e a essência do Reiki.
Para concluir essa jornada, participamos de um encontro com Mestres de Gendai Reiki em Sapporo, onde, além de praticarmos juntos, fortalecemos nossos laços com uma comunidade internacional vibrante, dedicada e solidária.
